Provider - Xfinity

Looks like there's an Xfinity specific bug with the NBCSN regionals. I've fixed it in the latest build v2019.08.01.0131

I’m away from home, but does that mean the NBCSN Philly main channel (not the plus) will work now?

No that channel is broken as previously discussed.

Wow, that was quick! Philly Plus working again for me. Now the other ones say "notAuthorizedLocation" - it was fun while it lasted! Thanks much!

I am in the N. California Xfinity region. Without having to first add TVE as a source in Channels, is there any way for me to know what channels I would get through TVE that I don't already get through my CableCard?

You need to pick a proposed provider of TVE, i.e., Xfinity, YouTube TV?

For Xfinity - their website should be able to list.

For YouTube - Provider - YouTube TV

...

P.S. I have Xfinity in SWFL - The most notable TVE additions for me were BBCHD and Sundance HD.

Unless your channels have DRM. Just free Streaming like CBS news.

I can't seem to get NFL Network to work. It says notAuthorized but it's on my subscription. Any thoughts as to why this isn't working?

Thanks!

Because Xfinity isn’t a provider on the NFL website.

In Seattle, getting 122 channels. But not getting the Pac-12 main channel. Anyone else successful in getting Pac-12 channel? For some reason, I do get Pac-12 Bay area.. which I don't get via Xfinity web page.

See what you can watch on https://pac-12.com/live

I can watch all 7 Pac-12 channel once I login using the Xfinity creds (same as one I used for TVE login).

Have you tried rescanning the p12nat channel, by clicking the pencil icon under Xfinity then Edit on the top right?

If that doesn't work please email [email protected] with a screenshot of the channel list in the Edit menu.

I find it curious that Xfinity does not allow the Viacom channels (eg. Comedy Central) via TVE, but you can stream them using Xfinity's own streaming app.

Just curious if anyone knows the technical/polical/financial reasoning behind that.

I would think Xfinity had to pay extra for tv everywhere access and they chose not to.

TVE also provides some on-demand content that, as @Richard_smith mentioned, Xfinity probably hasn't agreed to pay for. Xfinity Stream just provides a live feed and that's it.

I guess I'm going to have to look for an HDHR Prime when they finally release the new one. That'll be the only way to integrate the Viacom channels with my Channels DVR experience. This is not such a bad thing. If I understand Xfinity's position correctly, and if they really do what they say, I can get a cable card for free, ditch the X1 DVR (which is costing me ~$13/mo to rent), and they'll also give me a $2.50 credit per month for using customer-owned-equipment. So I'll recoup the cost of a Prime within a year.

As long as you only have the one connection, you will indeed get that credit.

I would have definitely when this way if the cost of Frontier FiOS TV was reasonable. They want > $100 over the cost of my Internet and not sure that includes the Video Transmission Fees and other Frees. You should compare that to an OTA Antenna and something like PS Vue with TVE.

There's plenty of reasonably priced previous-generation 3-tuner Primes on eBay. 3 tuners is a lot more bearable when you can get most of your channels via TVE.
