QNAP 5.0 Firmware Update

I just updated to the QNAP 5.0 firmware which appears to completely disable the DVR software.

Is the workaround still to install via a docker container?

I am running V5 without problem. Try restarting Channels.

Hmm. It’ll start the server but then stop the app running due to “Channels DVR has an invalid digital signature.”

You need to enable the setting to allow apps to run without a valid signature. This is the default on 5.0. Go to App Center, the Settings gear icon in the upper right, General tab, and check the box that allows apps to be installed without a signature. Channels won't be stopped then.

Good luck!

Thanks for the tip! Somehow that got unselected. Up and running!

It gets disabled automatically as part of the 5.0 upgrade. At least that's what happened when I upgraded.

Why is the Channels app for QNAP unsigned? The better solution by far to to sign your code!

Last I saw, they were trying to get the new signature working:

And also noted the workarounds:

maybe @tmm will give an update on this?

We are working through the process with QNAP

any updates on this? QNAP firmware updates occasionally reset the "allow unsigned apps" setting so I have to go through the process all over again

Yes we have a signed package now.
