QNAP Install {"error":"unauthorized"}

Sure. Let me find it. Is that a directory on my QNAP?

Sorry that’s only valid for macOS. For QNAP, the file will be in:

/share/CACHEDEV1_DATA/.qpkg/ChannelsDVR/channels-dvr/data/channels-dvr.log

I was having the same error on my Synology DS216+ but the /auth/logout trick worked for me.

@peteringarra Can you try upgrading your NAS to 4.2.2?

This is the magic elixir! Thank you. For those that are not tech savvy (me!) use http://(your local server in address):8089/auth/logout And then wait… After that restart your Apple TV and all should be well!

Upgraded to 4.2.2 and everything worked! Thanks!

Update - Apparently my router was routing my local NAS IP to a routable IP on the internet. I had been testing some routing rules and I had forgotten I did this. Anyhow once i disabled the routing of my NAS IP I was able to get the QNAP app working. Thanks for all your assistance.

HELP! I just got my QNAP NAS and I can’t fix this error. Getting the same authentication error

What NAS model? Are you updated to version 4.2.2?

TS-228 and it’s telling me 4.2.0 is the latest update

Also, the QNAP won’t let me use port 8089. It’s defaulted to 8080. It states port 8089 is being used by other applications

4.2.0 and 4.2.1 will not work. You need to upgrade to 4.2.2 first.

How?

Apparently that NAS isn’t upgradable to 4.2.2. Awesome…

The compatibility issue with QTS 4.2.0 has been fixed with the latest QPKG available on the installation site.
