Question about "Add A Label"

I see the option to "add a label" when I look at my movies in both the library and in the Manage area of the DVR in my server.

What is the label for and where does it show up. I made a note on a couple of my movies, but guess I am not understanding what it is for.

Is this just a memo to yourself about said movie?

The latest pre-release has added the ability to add your own custom labels to Movies and TV Shows. This gives you the ability to tag content with your own labels which then gives you the power to query with them. For example, add the maddox label to a bunch of Movies, then use the simple query labels=maddox for a Virtual Channel, and voila, a channel full of movies just for @maddox. With Labels, you should be able to create all kinds of strategies for your Library. [image]

You can use them with Smart Rules to help make Library Collections or Virtual Channels easier.

Maybe you want a Marvel collection. You can easily just maintain the collection by manually adding the marvel movies as you add them to your library. Or just add the “marvel” label to them ass they get added to your library.

If you have different collections or virtual channels that use these movies, they’ll automatically use that new movie. Vs having to manage them all manually.

Labels are just a tool.
