Question re moving Server and TV shows from Nvidia shield Pro to Mac Mini

Hello. I'd like to move my dvr server from Nvidia Shield Pro to M2 Mac mini. I see the instructions for that on the Channels support, so that should be OK, I think. Also I'd like to move the tv shows / data which is on an external usb ssd drive connected to the Shield and formatted as internal storage. Could I just physically move the usb drive and connect it to the Mac mini, or would that not work because it's formatted as Internal storage. I don't want to corrupt it. If moving it physically is not an option, then is network transfer the best way to do it, then attache the drive to the Mac mini, reformat it, and copy the data back to it? I set up the Shield back in 2019 and have basically left it alone since then, so a little rusty on the options!!! I saw the support for the server on the Shield is stopped, so decided to do the move. Channels has been great! Fantastic app!

After a quick search, it looks like if the drive was formatted as internal storage for the shield then it is encrypted. The network transfer, reformat and copy route should work just fine.

Thank you. I'll give it a go.

Just to report back on a successful migration. The Channels DVR Server is now running on the Mini and I migrated the recordings from the external drive attached to the Shield using the network transfer solution. This also gave me the opportunity to increase the size of the external drive that I'm using to store the recordings on, which was a bonus. The DVR server setup also steered me towards a restore of the data that I had copied, though I started out going down the path of a new setup. Kudos to the Channels team as in the end this was a super easy thing to do, and their extensive platform support saved me the cost of another device, such as a NAS. I came to Channels after Windows Media player folded, thinking I'd never find another product that worked so well. Channels has proved me way wrong on that front.

No, it will not work. Once an external drive is becomes "internal storage" for an Android device, it can only be used with that single device without reformatting; you cannot even use it with a different Android device.
