Problem "solved" but curious if this is a bug or a feature. One of my 2 HDHR Primes went flakey so I disabled it in Sources (and unplugged it). But recordings already scheduled tried to use the disabled tuner. It had been disabled about 10h prior to the scheduled recordings. Of course got "tuner unreachable" and I could tell from the log it was trying to reach the disabled tuner.
Seeing this I did the "network rescan" on Sources and the disabled/disconnected tuner was removed from the list. Waiting now for the next scheduled recording to come around.
So based on observation I presume when a recording is queued it gets a tuner assigned - makes sense. Is that how it works?
Please go to Support -> Troubleshooting -> Submit Diagnostic Logs from the web interface of the DVR and let us know when it's been submitted so we can have a better idea of what was going on.
No, that isn't how it works. It evaluates the available devices at the time that the recording starts, which does take into account if a device is disabled. It should be doing exactly what you expected it to do, so I'll have to dig in further with your diagnostics to try to see if I can spot what went wrong.
Hi. Support log submitted as 58e15313-daa8-42dd-ab11-8837e07fa21c
Look around timestamp 2025/08/07 10:29. The flakey Prime's ID is 1317BA62.
After removing the failed HDHR Prime from sources and restarting the server and the Apple TV client, recordings that were queued over the next little bit (1h or so) did not start and remained queued. I started a new recording from the guide (via web) which took off immediately. All recordings are working now as scheduled. So not really an issue if you have more pressing matters. Another HDHR Prime is on the way to me from eBay and I expect (if I can get it paired) everything will continue to work fine.
Thanks.
