Quick Guide has black images with progress bar for various channels

2 in alb mode using a virtual switch on gig network

Try with just one

tried with just one and it happens on both apple tv and IPad and Iphone. and it is not alwasy the same stations with the blank images it is very randomized one 30 min period might be one status and the next 30 min another

There is some kind of network connection issue between the clients and the dvr server. While downloading the images the connection is interrupted randomly.

do you do port trunking on your QNAP?

No. You can't just do it on the NAS, you have to setup your switch correctly too.

ok turned off every advanced networking thing on qnap and using on one port connected to a gig switch that is connected to Apple tv via ethernet and same result even restarting the channels app on the Qnap. Can't see how network issue now especially if connected via ethernet on same switch. Can i just delete /dvr/images/tsmimg?

what does this mean? as i turned on http logging on the dvr side.

It means the client closed the connection before downloading the entire image.

If you load those urls directly, it seems like you do see the images right?

so i turned on the http loging again select one of the stations that had just the logo in the on now window got this

Okay if you can reproduce in browser that is helpful.

I will try to improve the logs and maybe we can get more details.

In the mean time maybe try via ssh on the QNAP over localhost to see if the same behavior happens?

Not sure what u mean and where would I ssh too . I did try to ftp to the qnap and found where you said cache was and it was all empty directories with no files and could not delete with my admin user I imagine another user needs to be used here.

This has resolved itself on its own. I am back to my original config that has port trunking. I suspect since this was a migration to another platform that the system needed time to update all files in the guide. Thanks for all the help.
