I find it annoying when using quick guide - the movie icons are half the size of non-movie icons (Series, News, etc) Could we have an option to add two black bars on the sides of the icon so its size matches other icons? This artificial congestion for movies is not necessary.
They’re presented in the aspect of the images. There’s no plans to change this.

Personally speaking, I find the distinction very welcome, it makes it easy and intuitive to differentiate between movies and non-movies, when browsing the Quick Guide.
Besides, "two black bars on the sides" of every movie poster instead? In my opinion, that would look positively awful.
Assumption? What assumption? What is being discussed here is the inconsistency for channel icons in the quick guide.. 
That the “congestion” is “artificial” and that it’s “not necessary.”
This UI decision strikes me as consistent, informative and wise.

The quick guide is meant for quick changes watching live TV. From an appropriateness POV, it's much MUCH more likely to be looking at anything other than movies.
In any case:

...is pretty clear. Complain to the image provider as to their inconsistency.
