Running channels on a Synology DS218+. It has 2 GB RAM and 1TB usable via a pair of 1TB Solid State drives in a RAID config. I noticed slow fast forwarding and it said only 13% free RAM out of 1.78 GB. Right after restarting Channels, the Channels admin web interface says there is 1.78 GB RAM and 83% free. Fast forwarding is screaming fast. Over time, the RAM usage drift to only 13% free and fast forwarding gets slow. If I restart Channels, it reverts back to 83% free RAM and fast forwarding is fast again. Any reason the RAM fills up? As for what Channels was doing, it was watching a baseball game on a cable channel, I was watching the recording of that game and it was doing commercial detection on a 3 hour recording of a golf match. It was doing these tasks when RAM showed 13% free as well as just after the restart where it showed 83% free RAM. Any idea why RAM seems to fill up this slowing down the app?
