Random order of guide channels

I Uploaded a diagnostic file from my FireStick. I'm using the latest beta versions on the FireStick and my Windows 10 server.

I have Channels set to "Channel Number Order".

Looking at the Guide showing "All Channels", everything comes out in channel number order. However, when I set the guide to show only "Favorites", the channels show in seemingly random order. It is obviously not really random, but I can not identify any logical pattern.

I believe that they came out in numeric order in the not too distant past.

Did something change?

Favorites can be re-ordered by the user so I'm not sure if they would have been numeric in the past.

Favorites are in the order that you added them with the ability to re-order them manually.

Nothing has changed regarding this and it has always been this way.

Using Windows 10 server, and/or FireStick 4k, I can not figure out how to reorder Favorites. Can someone give me a pointer?

If you are using the favorites feature native to the app, you can follow this documentation.

If you’re using Channel Collections you will adjust the order via the web admin where you created it

I would follow the documentation if it worked.

Under Alpha version 11.12.428, if you select "On Now" on the FireStick 4k Max (2nd Generation), a screen comes up with a selection menu at the top. Choices are: All, HD, Favorites, Movies...
If you select "Favorites" you can reorder the favorites following the above listed directions.

HOWEVER, Using Beta version 8.11.2159, things are different.
Selecting "On Now" presents all of the show icons, but there is no menu across the top. With no menu, there is no way to select "Favorites", and therefore no way to reorder.

It sounds like you have removed them via settings. You’re going to want to check your customizations.

Please browse your settings.

Yes,
Settings->General->Live TV->On Now Channel Collections->On

Solves the problem.
You might want to update the documentation to indicate that you can't reorder Favorites with this setting off.

Hi

I have been trying to find without success out how to move a favorite channel listing in the guide - favorites section listing. I run channels on a synology server using Apple TV to reach it. Also tried to sign onto server still no joy

Any help appreciated

In the web server web page create a channels collection called Favorites or whatever, assign the collection to the Apple TV, disable the built in favorite section on the Apple TV app and that’s all you need to do. You can order them any way you want using channels collections.

I figured out the source of my confusion. Under the Android client, Favorites do not come out in numerical order unless you reorder them. However, in the Windows server, they do come out in numeric order, and I don't see any way to do a reorder on the server.

I'm not sure if Synology and Apple work the same as Windows and Android, but for me, the instructions listed above under "Manage your Channels" works under Android. Once you reorder the channels under "On Now", they will also reorder under the Guide. I have not found a way to reorder on the server.

There’s no reordering on the web admin. This is a client feature.
