Its just the custom image that is being sunset. You can still use the Pi as a server, but just with a different OS image.

I bought 3 Pis and now I'll sell them as the cheap Windows machines are so good. I bought one almost two years ago for $300 and now they're $100. Maybe I'll keep one Pi for Mathematica.

Pi4b's are dirt cheap these days, nothing like they were worth during the shortage/pandemic times when even a 2gb model was being sold for over $500.

Nowadays, SBC's have been pushed back to being only practical for their original design use, project boards, tinkering, etc.
Far more powerful Mini-PC's, that only use a bit more power, cost the same or less even.

This poll is superfluous. As been said multiple times now, the Pi is still supported as a CDVR server using any Linux distro. It is not that hard to install and setup.

Yes, I too am sad to see the custom-made image no longer be updated/supported, however, it is not that hard to make one of your own if you really desire a slimed down image such as that.
(honestly, my main choice for a slim Linux based OS, DietPi OS, is already a very slim OS as it is and it is very easy to use and has extensive documentation)

Suggestion: Possibly one of the developers can produce a one time image for the PI that provides the Linux image with Channels installed. This will help the people that bought the PI as a ready to go appliance. Instructions would be required for them to burn a new SD card or what ever they are booting from.
