I powered down my pi to add a powered USB hub and and additional HD. I waited about a minute then reconnected power. I used Fing to check that it was assigned an IP address (it was). I was also about to ping it. However, I can not reach it via a browser like I normally do. My Apple TV, iPhone, and iPad apps can reach it--but all I see are channels from my Homerun tuner--not any TVE sources. Does it just take more time to fully come up to speed?
You may have exceeded the power the USB bus can provide. Is the HD powered?
Does it work if you only plug in the original drive ?
Ok--it is working now--I walked away for a couple of hours--came back and it was working. One issue though--I have two drives now on the powered USB hub. However, all I see in settings is the original one. Anything I should do to configure it?
Up top at the right do you see the new drive listed? It should be /media/XXX
You will need to uncheck the dvr checkbox, make the new drive the main path underneath. Then in additional storage add /media/DVR
This is what I am seeing:

I believe I unmounted the drive--not sure what to do next...

It is interesting that I can see all of my recordings--I just do not see the usual capacity remaining information that I usually see.
You need to reboot so it's remounts. Do not unmount
Under Basic Setup, change /media/DVR to /media/Elements
Under DVR Database > Additional Storage, add /media/DVR
Got it. BTW--what is the best way to reboot? Unplug it?
Click the reboot button under maintenance at the top of the page
