RDP via tailscale

Ok I'm sure this is a dumb question, I'm trying to connect to my Windows dvr PC remotely via tailscale integrated in channels, but the RDP client can't connect. Connects fine over local lan of course.

I can ping the remote PC over tailscale no issue (and it shows up on the tailscale network), but when I look at the PC on the tailscale admin console it doesn't show any services running and I don't know if or how to add RDP there. I am using the tailscale PC name (dvr-xxx), not the local lan name.

Tried doing tailscale nc dvr-xxx 3389 to see if I could just do a simple TCP connect but the connection is immediately closed (may be refused, tailscale CLI doesn't say).

I can also access the channels admin console via that name on 8089 so I'm kind of at a loss as to why RDP doesn't work.

The integrated tailscale will only let you access Channels DVR

Well that was quick, again, yet another feature that I either forgot about or wasn't aware of.

Thanks. I'm guessing there's no way to add that as a service in channels, right? I just have to install tailscale and disable integrated?

You can run both the native Tailscale client on your server, while simultaneously enabling Tailscale integration within CDVR. You will end up with two nodes on your Tailscale network. This allows you to still RDP to your server, and the CDVR clients will not have to run a Tailscale client in order to connect to the CDVR server.

Yes you need system Tailscale to be able to access other services.
