I did some volume maitenance on Data Vol 1 on my QNAP and somehow
managed to delete all my apps that are kept there including Channels DVR;
altho I’ve managed to re-install Channels DVR my previous two weeks of
recordings are no where to be found; the recordings themselves were on another
Data volume altogether so it appears the linkages to those files has been
corrupted; initially the re-install of DVR stated that the database backup was active so
I had hopes they would be recovered…any ideas how I might retreive my 2-3
weeks of recordings since the DVR launch? BTW, the files themselves are stoill
on Data Vol 4…so the physical files are safe…
Worst case, you could download Infuse and play them with that…
If you reinstalled, you need to visit http://x.x.x.x:8089/restore to pull in all the old recordings and passes.
The restore is an all or nothing; if you already made new passes and recordings you cannot combine them with the older ones.
Not sure what you mean by this… can you elaborate what you saw and where
I was able to navigate to the backup location on my NAS…but there is nothing there to launch the restore process once the backup is selected…where does the restore happen?
Selecting a backup should restore it and redirect you to settings page with the new data. It also shows an error if you try to restore but the DVR is still running.
(Please post screenshot of the error if possible.)
Didn’t work on my Macbook…will try it on my Win10 machine tomorrow…nothing
hgappens at all when I select the backup directory…I just get a message: no
backup found
You need to select the Database directory, not the backup
I’ll try that to see if it works…get back to you
Yup…worked like a champ…simply did not know where to point for the restore;
this is a great feature as a QNAP requires maitenance & updates to keep current; nice
to know my recordings are safe on another Data Volume…great work!! BTW, QNAP 4.3
(64 bit) is just around the corner…are you prepped for this release?
I have QNAP qts 4.3 installed and channels DVR is working great.
Mine restored, but it did not restore all the recorded movies? And now it will not let me restore any other backup?
You can restore again by turning off the DVR checkbox first on the settings page. Is it showing an error or what?
