Your webpage states you support all Synology NAS’s. However, my DS218Play cannot install Channels DVR along with other new RealTek ARM8 chip based Synology NASs. It just hangs on Installing.
Can you guys please support it? The toolchain is already out by Synology so you guys could potentially get this running very quickly.
By the way my DS218Play is 1.4 GHZ Quad Core with 1 GB RAM and supports 4K transcoding.
Huh, it shouldn’t be hanging. Does it show any output during the install? We support those new rtd1296 processors for basic DVR, and are working to add hardware transcoding as well.
Either way, the install should either fail or succeed. If its hanging that sounds like maybe a networking configuration issue.
All is well! I restarted my NAS and uninstalled the failed attempt and reinstalled and this time it went through fine. I can’t really test it out yet as I havent gotten my HDHomeRun yet but since you also mentioned you support the rtd1296 then I believe I shouldn’t hit any snags.
Great to hear your going to add hardware transcoding. Will you make an announcement when thats available? Also since I am going to be using a HDHomeRun Extend which has a built in transcoder, what benefit would your future hardware transcoding have?
Does Channels DVR still do software transcoding on the NAS even though HDHR Extend does it already and therefore isnt needed and would just put undue stress and burden on the NAS?
