I recently purchased a new NAS WD - My Cloud Expert EX2 Ultra 2-Bay 8TB. Old NAS was also a WD. My server is running on shield and I tired to point it to record to new NAS and I get no write permission. I cannot figure out how to grant it permission. I also tried to set it back to the original path on old NAS and I am getting same error message. Not sure that this should matter but both are mounted to shield.
You have to set Permissions on the NAS for Read/Write on the recording folder.
Try setting the share to "Public" instead of requiring a password to verify the NAS is being properly accessed.
Unfortunately I've tried that as well and it did not work. I have feeling it's an issue with my shield but I don't know why. It won't let me select the old NAS that I've changed nothing on. Gives me the same error needing read/write permissions. I know this was an issue I had back one the shield updated to the 9.0 update. But I thought it was fixed. I fixed it back then by side loading an APK that was available at the time. I've tried installing the stable release and the beta release of the DVR in it still gives me the same error.
Try SSHing into the EX2 and find out in the logs why it isn't permitted. It could be trying to submit a wrong password, it could have the wrong SSH keys, it could be using the wrong something. See if you can check the logs and find out what its trying to do.
