Record a show on a low channel number instead of high channel within the same source?

As I type this message, FOX channel 6002 is airing one of the FIFA matches live.
I have a pass to record FIFA matches and this particular one will be recorded when it is replayed later on FS1 channel 6197.

I would have preferred to record it on the first opportunity instead of waiting for the replay. This way, if the recording fails on the first try, there is still another chance to record it later.

My understanding is that Channels DVR favors higher channel numbers first unless the lower one is set as a favorite or in a source that has a higher priority. Am I correct? Please correct me if I'm wrong.

In this case, both channels are in the same source so the favorite one should be picked (again, correct me if I'm wrong.)

I do have 6002 as a favorite and 6197 not.

Why did Channels choose to record later on 6197?

It should have used 6002 as long as it is favored in the server as you have described. My guess is the 6002 guide data does not satisfy stipulations in your pass or there is a problem with the server connecting to 6002. You could check the logs, that may shed some light on what’s going on

It should have recorded the first airing no matter channel preference. That’s the weird part.

Submit logs and check to see how it was scheduled. You may have just chose the airing on that channel to record. In that case, it wouldn’t record what you told it to.

No, I was able to tune to the channel live and watch a little bit. I did want to make sure there were no connection issues.

I took a look and I can see that one match was recorded this morning on 6002, and then I can see when I started watching it live after 2 PM even it was on air on 6002 but not recording. I can't see anything about the scheduling part.

I couldn't see anything related to the scheduling.
But maybe it's because I don't know what to look for exactly in the log.

Interesting, it acts like it thinks it has already recorded it. Might want to keep an eye out that tonights replay on fs1 starts a recording. Hopefully the logs submitted help. As a side note a queued record doesn’t mean it will record

Strange. I'm curious to see what they get from the diagnostics you submitted.
That match (England vs. United States) is ProgramID EP044586290010
You might want to search for that in the log.
