Is there a way to only record Prime Time New shows. I am from SageTV and that was easy to do as all I had to do was select hours 8,9,10 and only record New on my Broadcast Channels,... I cannot figure out a way to do this in Channels DVR.... but it appears in Channel if I select 8:00PM any show that starts at 8:01 PM will not record. I have enough space and I rather record all Prime Time shows and delete ones I do not like than miss any new ones.
Because of the way Channels rules work, at present you need quite a few separate rules. You need a separate rule for each channel and hour (so, 3 rules for each prime time channel); just set the channel to the number, set the tag to New, and set the time to include the prime time hour you want.
(I miss the much more free-form rules from Tvheadend, so I understand your frustration. I used to do the Prime Time rule thing for broadcast channels during Fall and Winter/Spring premiere season.)
You can use a rule for 8PM and it will match any minute. But currently you would need a separate rule for every hour.

That is how I want to use it … I have missed first episodes of New Shows before … setting up a rule for Prime Time with no show names eliminates the need for me to keep checking for new shows.
I came up with this only had to setup 3 Passes. 8 9 and 10 PM
Tags == New
Categories == Series
Genres != News
Channel CONTAINS .
Time CONTAINS 8:00pm

Just noticed "New" in tags is case sensitive. Seems unnecessary IMO, probably same for others but haven't checked
Edit - Same with "Series" in category field
