I wonder if devs have thought of adding the ability to record specific season #s and/or episode #s. For example, we bought season 1 of Puppy Dog Pals on Amazon for our son. However, we recently changed our TV package to now include Nick Jr. I'd like to create a series pass to record seasons 2 and 3 only in order to catch up.
You can go to DVR > Passes on the DVR's web UI, and click Advanced Edit to add more rules. In your case you would add SeasonNumber > 1
Excellent! Thanks for the quick reply. If I set all recordings, will it repeatedly record the same episode # if it shows up multiple times? I just want one Season 2, episode 3, for example.
No, it will only record a single episode once.
I'd like to NOT record Seasons 1 through 11 of Gray's Anatomy. We're only in the re-runs of Season 5 and 6 ATM, and I have to keep skipping, and skipping, and.. well, you get the idea. They come pretty fast at 5 or 6 a week, so I don't want to pause the Pass - and have it miss (when I forget about it).
Add "SeasonNumber > 11" to the pass.
Is it possible to configure a pass to record only sessions 1, 2, and 3 (but not any > 3)?
The UI for SeasonNumber only has ==, !=, >, and CONTAINS, and I am unsure how to specify 1, 2, & 3 with CONTAINS.
No way to do that currently in a single pass.
Thanks, and I assume that now since nothing for Grey's Anatomy is showing in the schedule it won't kick in until we get to Season 11. If so, good.
I do something similar to this (EpisodeNumber > 0) to exclude episode recaps or rebroadcasts with additional footage.
Hopefully a future DVR version will allow for more complex Boolean searches to allow for combining searches.
