For the last few weeks the recorded first hour of Mornings with Maria on Fox Business (a three-hour show) displays in a squished format, as if the 16:9 is squeezed to 4:3. It affects only the first hour. The other two hours that follow are properly sized. I’m using a RPi4 with up-to-date prereleases. Any ideas?

What does it look like IF you view it directly on your tv set, as it's recording? In other words, perhaps the station is broadcasting it like that for some reason.
And as luck would have it, there were no problems this morning (March 15). I’ll report back if the issue resurfaces.
Maybe it happens only AFTER a particular commercial comes on, and changes the aspect ratio.
Why would a commercial change the aspect ratio?
Happens all the time, depending on the aspect ratio of the show you are watching, and what commercials come up.
