Recording a specific time and channel

I am trying to schedule a recording of something on a public access station. The guide shows all public access stations as show “Local Origination”. If you try to record, it picks a different channel and time.

Any way to force recording a specific channel for a specific time?

Can you take a screenshot?

If you pick something from the guide and click record, it will record that channel and that time. There is a known bug where other programs on the tvOS Guide tab might show as though they will record even though they will not. You can confirm what’s going to happen by looking at your Schedule on the DVR tab.

Try setting up a "New Advanced Pass" on Web UI: DVR...Passes...Gear Icon

I will try both ways at different times to see what happens. Love the idea of an advanced pass but I am not sure how the time will work.

Channels DVR did record the program at the time I selected in the guide. As stated, there is a bug that makes it looks like it will record at other times if the program title is the same.

I was not successful getting the advanced pass to record. It may because I left out the day of the week (i.e. used Time CONTAINS 09:00 rather than Time CONTAINS Tue 09:00). I am not sure of the proper format for Time. Issue can be closed. Thanks!

Using an advanced rule to record a specific time/channel is not recommended. Better to find the program in the guide and hit record on it.

Is there any concept of a manual recording?

My scenario is that the local news has different names for the M-F and Saturday and Sunday airings (not sure why). They are all on from 11:00 - 11:35 on the same channel. To catch them all currently I have 3 separate passes setup. If I could just say record channel 3.1 every day at 11:00pm for 35 minutes that would catch them all.

You could use an advanced rule as noted above, but it’s simpler to just have three passes.

I use 3 different passes for recording 11 pm news: weekday, Sat & Sun. And the advanced pass for recording only on Thursday at 10:00 AM on specific channel

Options all depend on your requirements.
