Recording episodes on wrong channel

I've been having some trouble with my DVR lately. I have two PBS channels 10.1 and 10.2 and they show different content.

I have pass set up to record all Nova episodes, however, when I go to watch an episode, I can see it recorded what was on channel 10.2.

Any ideas on how to fix this? Under settings -> sources -> channel line up, there is an option to map 10.2 to 10.1 and I have tried that, but it doesn't seem to work.

In passes, under "Advanced", you can specify which channel to use or which channel to exclude for a given pass.

You are confused on what this does. When you map 10.2 to 10.1 you are telling the dvr to put the guide data from 10.1 onto 10.2. This would make the channels appear identical to the dvr when it comes to guide data. With all things equal when it comes to guide data recording the dvr chooses a higher channel number.

Map 10.1 to 10.1 and map 10.2 to 10.2. Then favorite 10.1 and make sure 10.2 is unfavorited.

I'll try that, however, 10.1 was mapped to 10.1 and 10.2 was mapped to 10.2, so, something is still not working.

I might have messed it up more so, I will undo that change.

Are both 10.1 and 10.2 HD channels?
Does the same NOVA episode air at the same time on both channels?

Channels prefers HD over SD channels and higher numbered channels (10.2) over lower numbered channels (10.1).

yes, they are both HD channels, and both channels show the same shows in the lineup, however only 10.1 shows the correct show when I change the channel - for some reason it records 10.2 which shows something different.

edited for clarity

If the guide shows the same NOVA episode airing at the same time on both channels, Channels DVR will record it from 10.2.

Either Favorite channel 10.1 and unfavorite channel 10.2, or change your pass to record from channel 10.1.

What is the pbs station callsign, city, station?

Sounds like you mean this.
The program guide data is correct for what's airing on channel 10.1
The program guide data is NOT correct for what's airing on channel 10.2

If that's the case, they may be mapped to the wrong station id or the guide provider has bad data.
Like @Rice said, we would need to know what the callsigns are for those two channels.

Map the 2 channels to their correct call signs. If that still shows wrong guide data, you will have to contact Gracenote (guide provider) and stations.

Thanks chDVRuser -

That is correct. You said it better than I did.

I've been out of town this week, but will look when I get home.
