Recording pass not scheduling recording

Hi,

I am a recent new user of Channels. Love it - so much so I bought a dedicated Synology DS218+ to run it from. It is an amazing solution. I am in UK and use HDHomeRun Quattro with UK Freeview HD - mostly don't bother with SD channels.

It has been almost flawless in use. I make us of recording passes. These mostly work. I had an instance last week where a new episode should have recorded but did not. I had noticed early in the week that the upcoming episode was not in scheduled recordings. Today I have scheduled a pass for a show tomorrow night (The Silent War on BBC4HD). The show does not appear in guide with recording indication. When I click on the show again I get an option to manage series pass rather than create a pass suggesting a pass exists. When I check on tvOS and iOS the DVR tab does indeed show a pass created for the show. Despite this the show does not appear to be scheduled for recording and does not show up in upcoming recordings.

All other shows I have scheduled this week for recording are all pass based and are all correctly scheduled so the pass and function is working as expected. I have tried deleting and recreating the pass and cannot understand why it is being missed.

Is this something anyone else has seen? This has now happened to two shows I have scheduled yet all other passes are working as normal. Is there any way I can diagnose or debug this?

I have attached some screen captures and can add any logs or diagnostics if I know what I am looking for. As I said, I am a new and learning channels user!

you have NEW selected, but it doesn’t have the NEW tag on your screenshot. What I would do is switch to ALL Episodes. once an episode is recorded, it wont re-record again, so multiple airings wont be a problem.

Thanks for the reply. A great tip - it did the trick! I was concerned leaving at ALL would result in the repeats that happen on channels would get collected too hence I selected NEW. The recording has now appearing in upcoming and I had nothing else to do once I changed the pass to ALL.

The DVR will never record the same episode more than once.

I did wonder that.

I changed one show to ALL for a show I know has numerous repeats. I see several of the repeats of an episode I have already recorded on one channel (DaveHD) though showing in upcoming airings are marked as recorded so are not scheduled. I can see one episode that was recorded on BBC2HD and is appearing as a repeat on DaveHD is being set for recording despite already being recorded on BBC2HD.

I presume the DVR will only match recordings on the same channel rather than trying to match the show and episode title across channels? I can understand if that is the case. Is there any way to make a show pass match episodes only on the channel I originally set the pass for? I cannot see any easy option to set this.
