Server: Channels DVR 2026.10.24.0621
Clients: Google TV Streamer and Nvidia Shield, Android TV app v10.20.1926 (this happens on both devices)
Recordings: OTA via HDHomeRun Connect Quatro
While watching a recorded football game, I routinely skip forward through commercials, or to just watch the gameplay more quickly. Channels occasionally stops in a paused state rather than resuming play after skipping with no way to resume play. Pressing play/pause shows the pause indicator, pressing it again causes the pause indicator to go away but playback stays paused. Waiting doesn't help, skipping back goes back 7 seconds but stays paused.
Expected: playback resumes after skipping.
Frequency: intermittent but consistently reproducible within a given football game. Most skip sequences are fine; it only happens occasionally but it inevitably happens multiple times while watching a game.
Workaround: back out to Recordings and start the playback again. It resumes and plays normally from the spot it was stopped at. So it doesn't appear to be a bad spot in the recording.
Diagnostics: submitted from the app on the Google TV Streamer immediately after it recurred there on Sun Nov 1, 2026 at 1:43 PM PT. On this occurrence, while stuck, I pressed seek back and it rewound 7 seconds but playback stayed paused. So the player accepts seeks and updates its position; it just won't re-enter the playing state. Note that the recording for this particulate game started late, but I see this on all games.
