Huh, so two different new episodes are airing at the same time?
If there is only one entry in the schedule then that means the guide data is saying it's going to be the same episode.
Can you post screenshots of the DVR web UI schedule, and the search results for survivor upcoming episodes
no i mean same episodes airing at the same time on 2 different channels, i like to record both in case one record have pixelation problem, now i can do it manually but i dont want to have to do it every week because i may forget to do it

thanks
any help on this?
Unfortunately there is no easy way to do this.
Do you sometimes have pixelation on both channels? If one is more stable then you can edit the pass on the web UI to add a channel and force that channel to be used for the pass.
im sorry but thas is no good, is there anything you guys can do to be able to do this, all my cable boxes just to do it, and i believe i will double check that i can do it on tvheadend, that is what record all episodes suppose do it
We can have the same thing happen, ever since I reoriented the antenna and we started pulling in Toledo. But the Detroit stations are much better, so I actually have the passes set to disregard the Toledo stations.
So, for us, a handier option would be a "prioritize by market zip code" option
But I can see where, if we were located such that the Toledo and Detroit stations were pretty much a wash, redundant recording might be a handy feature for us. OTOH, I imagine such users are a relatively small portion of the user base. Networks try to avoid stations overlapping markets. Bad for both stations, revenue-wise.
Personally that seems like you need to revisit your antenna setup.
sure, but i dont see why not if i have the tuners and the hard drive space, why i cannot record both program at the same time if i want to
Because you are trying to use something outside the scope of what 99% of people use it for. I would focus my attention on getting your antenna setup properly to get in the channel that has the best signal for your location.
ok sure, lets leave like that
The DVR assumes that you don't want to record the same episode more than once. This assumption is hard-coded from the very beginning when the DVR was still in alpha, and its really hard to change now. We never anticipated someone would want to do this, because most users want one recording. Sometimes shows I watch air on 4-5 cable channels at the same time, and I definitely don't want to record them 5 times and use up all my tuners.
I appreciate your use-case and understand why you want this behavior, but unfortunately the DVR just won't let you do it right now.
i understand thanks for you help
