Recording to LAN

Not sure where to ask this, so re-direct me if needed.

I just changed my setup and basically scaled down a little and have decided to record to storage on my lan via usb from router. I have channels installed on a mini pc on linuxmint and all that is fine except when trying to set my recording location. Channels is not showing my network although it sees my homerun tuner. From the same pc I have done this with emby but channels has no obvious path. What am I missing or is this even possible? Thanks for any help.

It can't record to network directly. You would need to setup a mount on your OS first.

You might want to rethink this. A usb drive connected to your router performance wise may not be ideal. Also routers are cheap and reliability would be a major concern if it were me. Storage is cheap, get yourself a beefy drive and install it in your Linux machine. My 2 cents

I agree and have already decided to go with external drives off my mini linux setup. Currently experimenting with casaOS on top of mxlinux for an easy docker solution.
