If all tuners are full and a recording is scheduled, what will happen? Do recordings take priority over live tuners and kick a live stream or does the recording not start until there is a free tuner?
The recording will fail, or start late if a tuner frees up within 3 minutes.
Good to know the timeout/retry is 3 minutes.
I've been trying to come up with a good analogy to how Channels and other clients work with an HDHR tuner and TVE, but haven't been able to come up with one accurate enough.
An HDHR tuner (and TVE stream) is an open/shared resource that any client (including Channels) can access, but cannot totally control or know what's using it and when.
Totally different than a closed box system that has absolute control over its tuners.
Unless it’s also mirrored on a TVE channel which can do the recording instead, correct?
