Recordings (and DVR) menu disappeared - sometimes reappears when exiting/re-entering the app

I am using Version 3.1.1 of the Apple TV app, and I noticed that when I launch the app, sometimes the Recordings (and DVR) menu at the top isn’t visible (it just shows Guide, Settings, etc). My workaround was typically to completely exit the app, re-open it, and then the Recordings and DVR menus would appear.

As of this morning, the Recordings and DVR menus are completely gone and I am unable to get them to come back (despite re-opening the app and even rebooting the entire Apple TV).

Appreciate any help as I’m literally unable to get to my recordings!

What kind of computer are you running Channels DVR on? Does it go to sleep? Could it possibly be having network issues?

Channels DVR uses Bonjour to broadcast itself. If Channels can’t see it anymore, it will remove the tabs.

My channels DVR server is Windows 10 64-bit via gigabit ethernet. It’s always on, never goes to sleep. I’ve never had any network issues.

You mention Bonjour… I noticed on my DVR settings web UI, there’s a setting called “Enable Bonjour Discovery” that is currently unchecked (I don’t think I’ve ever touched that). Does that need to be turned on?

Hmm, it definitely needs to be checked. I’m not sure how it ever worked without it being checked. Check the box. How many IP addresses does it say it’s advertising on?

I just checked it and it shows it’s advertised on one IP address (which is the IP address of my server). Not sure how it was unchecked (but others in my family have access to the web ui so maybe they touched it by accident).

II then opened the Apple TV app and the recordings and DVR menu are back. Looks like that fixed it! Thanks for the help.
