Recreate m3u channel database

Hello all, did a search but didn't find an answer.

I love the "ignore m3u" channel number feature of Channels DVR for my iptv imports, and I have it tagging via channel ID, but is there a way to redo my existing channels easily? Right now I have a scattershot non-sequential list, but I just want the DVR to destory that database mapping that it created, (say, Channel 1 News is mapped to 5004, but I want it to go to 1001) somehow.

Everytime I edit settings, it still maps it to 5004... thoughts?

you can force a guide update and see if they align again.

Welcome!

If you install Playlist Manager for Channels (a Streaming Library Manger extension), you can completely control your numbering in any way you want, plus a plethora of other features I'd bet you'd find useful!

I've found there are two issues with Channels DVR when it comes to m3u's and channel numbers.

  1. Sometimes changing things in an existing custom m3u source setting doesn't stick. My workaround is to create a new custom m3u source with a different name and delete the old one.
  2. After changing anything related to sources or m3u source settings, delete and recreate the guide database. Settings > Live TV & DVR > Guide Data > Maintenance :gear: > Delete and Recreate Database

Does anyone have an exact set of steps I can follow to replicate this issue?
