Checking is unnecessary, I tested myself earlier. I'm 99.9% convinced either the the user is on the wrong version of SLM or their specific IP address has been banned by YouTube and they need a new one. Otherwise, the error they are showing in their logs has already been corrected.

There is a small chance of something being wrong with Node.js in the Docker version. If others with Docker could open a stream and then get me their SLM logs I can see if something pops up. A success looks like this:

@babsonnexus Follow-up... I ahve 35 live streams... vlc plays one for about a minute or so, then it freezes/times out and move to the next stream... it's been doing it for about 13 streams now...

Update: I can get my streams to run without stopping now...
I just noticed that you are running a newer version of yt-dlp than me... could this be related?

How hard would it be to have SLM auto-update yt-dlp like Pinchflat does?
Pinchflat 2025.9.26 (Releases ¡ kieraneglin/pinchflat ¡ GitHub)
keeps yt-dlp auto updated (currently 2026.03.17) without having to build a new container.

Could be, like I said, whack-a-mole. If you update the Image, it will always install the bleeding age, which is why I'm newer. I actually did a silent upgrade for Windows this morning to make sure it had the latest (no version change). I have more I need to investigate, though, on the Docker side. There was a Node.js update on March 10 that I think might be more the problem based on your logs and a quick test of my own that I did.

Without looking, I'm going to say for Docker it would probably be technically possible, but for Windows it would not, at least not how I currently have SLM built. And going down two separate development paths for them is not in the cards!

Tier 3 backup has been working in all cases, so I'm not in a rush to do something that massive. I suppose in a perfect world I'd build it like Channel's Docker, where the Image is just a shell for running the program, so no updates of the Container would be needed, but that's only happening in an alternate universe right now!

Something strange going on with the SLM log.
I can view it from SLM Controls > Logs, but the docker container log acts like it's being buffered and doesn't display the last log lines that appear in SLM.

Thanks @babsonnexus for suggesting YouTube could be blocking my IP. I logged out of my YouTube account on my ipad, and got the “sign in to prove you’re not a bot” error, as well. I switched to a vpn on my nas, and the YouTube channels are working again using SLM!

The only thing I can think of that may have caused this is that I was using Tivimate with multiscreens recently. Maybe YouTube didn’t like that?

I live in an apartment, so, unfortunately I have no control of my router, except to reboot it. I tried leaving it unplugged for 30 minutes to see if I would get a new IP assigned, but that didn’t work. I may have to submit a ticket to my ISP. Anyway, vpn is a good workaround for now.

Yep...that'll trigger YT easily. I get similar errors when running ytdl-sub. You have to throttle or curb your frequent connection to there or else they'll temporarily ban your ip

A VPN or a cookie file is really the only workaround

I'm not super familiar with Podman, but my understanding is that it makes a copy of the Github repository and installs following the Dockerfile directions. It seems like it might not be doing all the step correctly, because there is one in there specifically for updating yt-dlp:

I'd say stop SLM, run those two lines, and then see again what version it's showing. Just a heads up this will be ahead of stable release.

The errors in general are not actually a concern. SLM was built with 3 main layers of backups (plus several sub-layers) for the video streaming so if one goes down, the whole thing won't fail. That was one of the changes I made a couple of months back. Also, it doesn't matter if you play in Channels, VLC, or whatever; the backend of SLM processing is the same, and thus the log will be as well (minus some little variations from how YouTube responds, which is part of what you saw). Based on what I've seen here and on my own, I believe I understand what's happening anyway, though, and will explore a fix:

That's because SLM is doing some very special logging/debugging/capturing that is being written directly to the log file and never printed to the general Docker collection.

Question about update station list and playlist manager.
I have several playlists from www.apsattv.com that currently have a known issue I've toggled them as inactive in the manage playlists list. However when attempting to update station list these inactive playlists are still being attempted to be downloaded, causing and very significant delay in updating station list. My solution was to delete these playlists entirely and the update station list updates quite quickly.

Would it be possible to exclude inactive playlists from the update vs having to delete them entirely? Thanks

@babsonnexus Update... So I couldn't stop SLM and do the 2 commands as the container wasn't running so couldn't access it... so I restarted it and shelled in and ran the 2 commands...
I checked the yt-dlp version and it said it was the 03.17... but the log said it was still 03.13 when I loaded a live stream... So I restarted SLM... now the log does shows 03.17...

I think we're not on the same page, so I'll just drop it.
What shows in the SLM UI under log also appears in the container log, but some lines appear to be buffered and not flushed until later, when they finally appear in the container log.
When I view the container log I have it add timestamps.
So looking at the container log you don't see the lines with the timestamp of when they actually ocurred and were written to the SLM log. Also the SLM view of the log doesn't timestamp every line.

Show is reported previously bookmarked when I try and bookmark and generate stream links. The show doseshow up in previous bookmarks.

The show is "Jury Duty Presents: Company Retreat"

I tried to hide it and get:
WARNING: Nothing was bookmarked due to all selected/imported items already being previously bookmarked.

My understanding is that Hide is how one deletes a bookmark. This feels like a bug to me. Could it be the colin in the name?

There is no bug, this is a user understanding issue.

Names are irrelevant; SLM checks a hidden unique identifier for TV Shows and Movies called the entry_id (the URL for Videos). When you "hide" a Movie or TV Show, it's still bookmarked with a Bookmark Action of Hide, like this:

Hidden bookmarks are not shown by default. You can change your setting and save if you want to see them:

Then you can edit them as normal and do whatever you want. So if you want to get all the episodes, change the Bookmark Action to at least None, or any of the other options, depending upon your individual needs. If you want to delete it, you select that action:

But if you delete, that means the program can come up in search and feeds again. Hidden means you will never see it again unless you turn off Hide Bookmarked, which is sounds like you have done:

Unfortunately I had a type-o in my original post so I'm retyping it:

Thank you for the correction of what hide dose. No matter which setting I use for "Show Hidden Programs" it does not show up in previous bookmarks.

I just tried to set the show to "none" and this resulted in:

Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error and was unable to complete your request. Either the server is overloaded or there is an error in the application.

Going back in I get:
WARNING: A SLM process is currently underway and, due to this, 'Manage Programs' functionality cannot be run at this time. If you were executing an action, your last position will be saved and be available when the process completes. Please try again later.

I've been down this path before so I'll restart the server as it is the only way I can regain function.

So how do I delete a show that does not show up in Previously bookmarked yet reports as bookmarked when I try and do anything with it?

Go to Controls > Files, select SLM - Bookmarks and click View. When it loads, in the filter field for entry_id put ts517900. You should see something like this:

If you do, that proves the item is bookmarked. Perhaps it has a different Title that was accidentally saved? Use that to find it because if its here, then it will be in that dropdown. Remember when changing your settings you have to click Save Default for them to take effect; you can't just toggle the options and get different selections in the dropdown.

I can't tell what you did from your description because you are saying you can't find it but are somehow changing it. Seems too much is getting mixed here for me to follow. Screen shots and logs with the story are the most helpful thing to me.

The search showed me that it's bookmarked as "Company Retreat". It's a data consistency error from Just Watch and I'm aware it's hardly the first time. They have the show name as "Company Retreat" in some places and in others they use the full name "Jury Duty Presents: Company Retreat". I was able to generate the stream links yet there is another data error they don't list all the episodes so I created those stream links manually.
