Remote Access from iPhone

I am trying to login via the web and when I copy and paste the authorization code into the iPhone Safari browser I get this message:
{“error”:“unauthorized”]

Any ideas on what I am doing wrong?

If I am on my home wifi, I can login with no problems using “WANIP:8089” It’s when I am trying to connect via LTE that it asks for the Authorization Code.

Click the link to get your code and paste it into the box

Yes… that is what I am doing. After I paste, then click “Go” to submit the code is when I get the error message.

What does the log say?

2017/01/23 12:09:30 [ERR] Post https://community.getchannels.com/oauth/token: dial tcp: lookup community.getchannels.com: no such host

Where is the DVR server installed? Sounds like your network is not properly configured as the DVR is not able to talk to the internet.

Good call. Sorry to bother you. I just changed over to a local static IP for my MacMini and did not have any DNS servers set. Thanks.

in light of this, is there a way to have a secure connection to the remote access to the DVR? like a username and password?

with the port forwarding, it just goes straight to the DVR page and i’m afraid someone can just get in and do some damage or worst case access my network.

Good point.

If you try an incognito window with your brower you will see this is not true. Only you can access your DVR.

i think you are right. i noticed that the testing i did on another phone that the phone was connected to wifi. i disabled that and now it asks for the authorization code.

thank you for clearing that up.

i did the incognito view on my desktop [on home network], but was able to see the DVR page right away. maybe because it’s still on the same network as the DVR?

on the phone without wifi and first time accessing the public ip + 8089 port, it went to the authorization page.
