Remote access is not working

Trying to access https://my.channelsdvr.net/ from my iPhone using a cellular connection says: “> Safari cannot open the page because it could not establish a secure connection to the server.”

I checked my forwarding using this server: > Enter “IP:8089” into https://check-host.net and click the TCP Port button. And all of the servers connected fine.

I have not connected remotely before, what could be the problem?

I think something’s down on their end, since I can’t get to mine either. I can access it through my reverse proxy, though.

I have the same problem also. I’ve set everything to forward and I’m not getting any luck. I’m new to this also.

http://my.channelsdvr.net works. Trying to track down why https broke.

Having this issue too. Using Safari on iPhone. Everything seems to work fine for awhile, but if I try after a few hours of inactivity, I get the “safari cannot open the page because it could not connect to the server” page. It happens whether I use http or https. If I restart Channels (running on a Mac), it works fine again.

Is it possible that the auto wake helper does not work for remote access? Maybe I still need to disable sleep manually in my Mac OS settings?

Yes that could be why.

Has this been resolved yet?

This issue has reappeared this week. To fix it for good, update your DVR to the latest pre-release by holding down SHIFT and clicking the “Check for Updates” button on the DVR settings page.

I used the manual Port Forwarding option and configured my router to forward the port. I’m not exactly sure how/why the Automatic Forwarding was being affected, but I haven’t had any issues since I switched over to Manual.

Running on a 2011 Mac Mini, AirPort Extreme router. I have Sleep enabled on the Mac, and I’m using the Channels Wake Helper.

Automatic rules have to be updated every few hours, so it’s possible that while the Mac was asleep the router was removing the rule. Good to know that switching to Manual fixed it!

My remote access is not working and hasn't worked for quite a while but I need it to work. Here is a screen shot of the issue as it appears to be a "certificate" issue.

Does portchecker.co show 8089 as open?

No, but here is a screenshot of my router setup

you are using the local ip not the remote ip. That is what your screenshot shows.

Yea don't change the IP on portchecker

What is your orbi plugged into?

Well it still shows that the port is closed

Your orbi is configured but the other device must not be. What is plugged into your orbi to provide internet?

My Metronet fiber optic modem

What's the model number? I would login to it and see if it has port forward settings

I just switched back to Spectrum/Charter for Internet after an all-day outage with Metronet and the remote access now works. Thanks so much for your time.
