Remote Access: Odd behavior @ router

Am at in-laws for Thanksgiving. Been accessing Channels DVR (QNAP / Asus Merlin Router). Today I went to connect and I needed to reauthorize a Tivo Stream 4k I'm using (unplugged/replugged). When I did it said couldn't reach Channels server.

Chased it down to port forwarding. For some reason, my router had lost forward of port 8089. Re-entered the forward and everything worked fine. Truly odd as I can't imagine how the router lost the forwarding rule.

We are constantly overestimating the abilities of people who write software for our devices. Can't wait for AI being in charge. :wink:

I've heard of routers not keeping a UPNP port forward.
If you had Channels DVR set it automatically, that's what is used.
I never enable UPNP on my devices, but do it manually in the router admin.
