Remote access without a getchannels.com account

I've seen some postings about people sharing their Channels server with someone outside of their local network (parents, siblings, friends). I know how to do that for myself when I'm away. I can easily get the required access code because my browser is logged into Channels.

How do people do that for others? Do you just share your Channels credentials with them?

I want to set up sharing with my immediate family members. I already have a external access to my home network via Cloudflare tunnels, and I have access controls on all the reachable targets on my network. Channels sees that as remote access (which it is ) and prompts for the access code. I don't want to share my Channels credentials with those other people. (It's not because they aren't trustworthy. It's just that it gives me a queasy feeling.)

I know that I can set up a reverse proxy on my local network, with appropriate header finagling, to get Channels to believe it's local access. Before I go to that trouble, I'm wondering if someone has a simpler solution.

Channels DVR is meant for home use with a single subscription.
It only allows one remote access per account.
It's not designed for sharing with other users outside the home.

You could use Tailscale and share access to your your Tailnet if you trust those "close family members".

As @chDVRuser mentioned, Channels is a personal home media system built for your family that has the ability to be used remotely.

Please don’t post threads about sharing it with multiple people, and rather help them set up their own Channels system.

There are plenty of other media systems designed to share potentially copyrighted content with all of your friends.
