Remote buffering, can't watch anything on my Note 10+

I have a Note 10+, video decoder set to Software on my Note 10, when doing a speed test on cellular I'm around 30mbit/sec download. My channels dvr is on windows 10, cpu is I9 9900K, 16 cores with 32 GB ram. Emby streams fine remotely. Any ideas?

I just checked on my Note 10. Everything is ok. My server is a Shield.

Check that Settings > Playback > Advanced > Video Decoder is set to Software

@tmm1 Its set to Software as indicated in orginal post

Doh, sorry I missed that.

If you submit diagnostics from the app we can take a closer look at what's causing the buffering.

What does Support > Speed Test show?

Just submitted, 13, 77, 14 is what speed test shows.

Is it the same behavior on TVE and OTA? How about watching a recording?

Yes, same for TVE, OTA and recording is even worse. The recording takes forever to start and buffers every 2-3 secs

Logs are showing lots of timeouts for some reason.

What variant of Windows 10?

windows 10 Pro, version 2004 @tmm1 any ideas?

Can you try updating the DVR to the latest pre-release?

Same issue. I just submitted diagnostics as well.

Does it work reliably at home? What about if you set Home Streaming Quality to 8mbps ?

It works fine at home so far, I have cellular streaming set to 480p 2Mbps, home streaming set to Original, Internet 1080p 8Mbps. Ill try and set it to 8 and see what happens.

@tmm1 setting Home to 8Mbps has no effect, still lags and buffers

So while at home, Original works fine, but 8mbps shows the same issues as when remote?

Everything works fine at home on wifi. I moved the channels server back to my QNAP and its working fine on there, so I must have some firewall issues on my windows box. I'm not sure what it is at the moment on this box.

Speedtest on QNAP shows 16, 222, 201

When you are streaming can you load the DVR UI and look at the status panel to see what the transcoding rate is showing? It appears that it's taking a very long time to transcode the segments.

Also, on the DVR, could you toggle the Transcoder setting between Hardware and Software and see if that makes any difference?

Where is the DVR UI status panel?

When you load the DVR UI in the browser, there is an "Activity" panel on the right. When something is actively being streamed it will give you details about it.

Oh the Activity panel ok.. It's working fine on the QNAP. Its my windows box that's having issues. I'll mess with that later tonight, and let you know. TV is being used st moment.
