Remote double click actions

I’ve discovered commercial skip and last channel organically. Are there any other nifty tricks with the Apple TV remote? I haven’t found anything documented.

Sorry if this is redundant. My search didn’t yield anything. Maybe because there aren’t any more?

Clearly my finding skills are substandard. Thanks.

Would be supper nice to have double click up/down for channel change.

If you have the new Siri remote, you can enable Up/Down for channel switching.

Yeah, but you lose the current functionality which I like. Would be nice to have both. I suppose there are constraints of which I’m unaware.

…or, of course, I may be the only one who thinks it’s a good idea. Wouldn’t be the first time by far. :slightly_smiling_face:

Not really. Swiping down will bring up the Quick Guide and swiping up or pressing Back will dismiss it, and tapping the touch surface toggles the timeline. Physically clicking Up/Down changes channels. There is no loss of functionality, only an increase of functions.

(Personally I disable this setting, as others in the house found it confusing.)

Yeah. I disable the touch stuff too. Otherwise, my wife would knife me to death. I’m not a fan either. Hate reaching for the remote in the dark and getting unintended responses.

Thus the double click up/down nag that I bring up over and over.
