Remote Users Frequently Logged Out

Hi -

I'm sharing my HD Homerun and Channels DVR with my parents located out of my network. I had them download the Channels app on their Firestick. Now that I've increased my upload speeds on my end, the streaming is much better. However, they're finding they frequently get signed out of the app. They call me and I need to take the access code and get them signed back in. Is frequent remote signing in required or should it be one and done? How often do you need to resign in for remote access?

Thanks

I had the same use case....my mom had nothing but problems with her fire tv. I switched her to ATV4K and its been a lot less phone calls to me saying it isn't working. I can't recall if it was logging out issues or tuner not available issues....but regardless switching her to ATV made my life easier.

Good to know! My brother in law wants to try it out as well.

Do you happen to know how many remote users can access the Channels DVR server at one time? I would assume its as many as the server can support and is not restricted. Any ideas?

It depends on your upload internet bandwidth where the server resides .... that is the only limitation. You can easily have 1 user take all the bandwidth. For example I have 200 down but only 6 up.

Server limitations and internet speed really. I've had 4 streams going no problem as long as you have them setup correctly. I have 150/150 internet so I don't have any issues with bandwidth.

I'm using a Shield as the server with 1.2gbps down and 35mbps up. I have a feeling the 35mbps up is really the bottleneck in my setup.
