Remote Viewing isn't working

I am having an issue trying to view recorded content on my Channels DVR while we are away from home. I can see all of our recorded shows when I open the app, but when I pick a show, it just "spins" and never loads.


I have uploaded the screenshots from my pfSense firewall. I believe I have the Firewall and NAT rules set up correctly, and if memory serves, I had streaming successfully working when I first set up this instance of Channels DVR.

Anyone have any idea of what is missing here and why remote streaming does not work? Thanks!

If you can see your shows...that means you are getting through to your DVR.

I bet your DVR is trying to transcode and it isn't up to the task

Thanks, it is good to know I have the rules correct.

As far as the transcodes, Channels is running on a Dell 720XD Server with Dual Xeons and 32GB of RAM, so I kinda doubt that transcoding horsepower is the issue here. I even have an nVidia GPU onboard for it, if Channels can leverage it.

So if it isn't firewall, and I don't think it is transcoding capability, what else could it be?

Thanks, what is the relative path to the log file(s) I am looking for? Will any errors be self-explanatory or do I need to post the codes here?

It's visible under Support > Logs and you can also check Support > Troubleshooting and click Submit Diagnostics there
