Removing Guide data from channel and set to Unknown (unsupported country)

Hi there, I'm loving the interface of Channels, this is what TV on an Apple TV should be like!

I'm using the app and the DVR in an unsupported country (Netherlands, Ziggo cable) and have chosen a German postcode near the border in the hope I'd get at least some guide entries - and yes, I have 8 or 9 that match. Others are listed as Unknown, which is fine for me right now (I do hope for support at some point, Ziggo offers most of their channels in SD as ClearQAM).

Point is, I want to remove the listings and guide data for the channels that DVR thinks it has matched correctly (but really hasn't) and set them to Unknown as well. However, the 'Edit' interface doesn't seem to let me do that. I can change what channel is matched but cannot remove it. The X that is visible on some channels is not visible on others. Can this be done?

Cheers

Do you get correct guide data in the official HDHR app?

To my surprise, I do. Up to 2 weeks in advance even. That's why I tried to set up the DVR with no additional guide data but it won't let me do that as far as I can see.

Try holding down SHIFT and click the circle icon shown under your HDHR. That will force update all guide mappings to match the HDHR app.

Thank you! Wouldn't have found that one on my own. I get guide data for the 14 most important channels now, Dutch, German and British - wonderful, you can almost claim The Netherlands as a supported country. Where does this data come from actually? Is this something Silicon Dust provides?

The only thing it doesn't solve is the channels that do not get guide data this way. So even though I'm already happy with this result, my original question partly remains: how can I tell the DVR to delete a channel mapping and simply list it as Unknown? Because that's actually preferable to having it filled with incorrect data.

Would probably be a good idea to add 'Use HDHR data' as a setup option when installing the DVR so I don't have to fake a location in Germany... That would also avoid having to delete channels later. Or is this already an option that I'm overlooking?

Cheers and thanks,

SiliconDust and Channels both use the same upstream guide provider. Since we share the same data, if they have correct mappings it is easy for us to import them.

Right now there's no way to remove an incorrect mapping, only replace it with the correct one.

Okay, I'll live with it for now then. Thanks for the fast replies, and the nice app.
