Renaming Channels recordings for both Channels and Plex?

Plex cannot usually recognize Channels names. Plex will usually list the recording but with no metadata or production information. When I have renamed movies or shows in the past, Plex can then catalog the movie or show but Channels could no longer see it. I stopped renaming files so Channels would not get cluttered up with the previously named files. I do have all the necessary software tools to rename files. It's just that I stopped trying.
What are the recommended steps to get movies or shows recognized on both Channels and Plex platforms?

Yeah for some reason Plex does not like the Channels DVR naming convention. I have to manually more often than not fix match Channels DVR recordings in Plex.

You can rename them and move them to the Channels DVR Import folders... that is the only way I know of... and point Plex to the import folders.

Agree. Currently, I point Plex to my Channels volume and directories. That does work except for the movie data issue. For news programs I don’t give a hoot. I’ve also moved files to the import directory but that is kind of annoying. Cleaning up the old and so forth.
