I am moving my Channels DVR from one NAS to another. As part of that I want to reorganize how I layout all of my directories. For all of the content am I going to lose my watched/unwatched status if I move things into new directories? Is the answer different for recordings vs local content?
Yes
You cannot move recordings to different folders. If you want to do that you would need to convert them to local content
You are not clear enough to answer your question. The answer that TMM1 provide is the safe one.
For the shares (or link) that you use for your local content can move anyplace on your NAS as that is transparent to Channels DVR. It only sees the directory structure past this point and that part must not change.
So as long as the whole local content directory is moved as is, Channels will not lose the watched/unwatched status?
If so great! I just want to move where the local content is but not make any other changes within the local content directory.
The full paths have to stay the same.
Moving from /volume1/imports/TV to /volume2/imports/TV doesn't work.
Understood
Docker comes to save the day! I can organize my disk anyway I want but present the directories to Channels the way they used to be!
