Reproducible Playback Bug on Apple TV and iOS (Channels App)

Devs, would you please investigate a reproducible playback issue I’ve encountered when using the Channels app on Apple TV and iOS? I’ve outlined the steps and observed behavior below.

Steps to Reproduce (Apple TV):

  1. Start a video on Apple TV using the Channels app on iOS/iPadOS and let it play to completion.

  2. Repeat step 1 with a different video.

  3. The video fails to play on the first attempt.

  4. Resend the same video and it plays as expected.

Steps to Reproduce (iOS – Picture in Picture):

  1. Start a video on iPadOS then switch to Picture in Picture mode.

  2. Let the video complete while still in PiP.

  3. Select a new video to play.

  4. The screen briefly blinks, the PiP window disappears, and the new video does not play.

  5. Attempt to play the same video again, and it plays normally.

This issue is consistently reproducible across sessions and devices.
