Request: Channel Scan & List

Request: Change the scan & list function on tvOS and iOS to the same methodology as in Web UI.

FINDINGS:

Web UI: All channels are listed from the SD Tuner, including Hidden, Favorite & DRM
Further adjustments can be made in Channels.
If a new scan is run: channels will be deleted if no longer on SD tuner, new channels will be added (reflecting SD status)
No other changes will be made to Channels list, even if SD status has been changed

TvOS & iOS: Initial list of channels do not include the hidden channels (on SD status)
Further adjustments can be made on this abbreviated list in Channels
If a new scan is run: deletions and adds as above plus any changes to hidden channels will be reflected

Android: Appears to read SD tuner status of channels at opening. Hidden channels are listed in Channels, however the DRMs aren’t.

Please correct me, if I am wrong on findings listed.

Possible anomaly noted on Web UI, hence I need to run some more tests. May be a possibility that Channels is auto updating channel list without manually running a new scan on Web UI.

Devs: Any guidance on process would be appreciated. My ultimate goal is to be able to have completely separate (static) channel list (at least: hidden, favorite) for Channels and SD (with the understanding that Channels android listings may have to be based on SD tuner listing for an extended period of time).

TIA for any help.

This is a bug.

Is there any any possibility of having a separate channel list for Channels? Currently, Channels appears to rescan/update from SD tuners periodically. For my use case, I need to be able to disable all channels on HDHR tuner except DRM (for use with SD apps), while on Channels I want to enable most of the HD and a few SD channels, and also set ~30 as favorites.

Channels for iOS and tvOS can hide and favorite independently. Other apps are experimental and are missing many features.

OK, I’ll try on iOS and/or tvOS. On Web UI, my tests didn’t work…does Web UI still rescan SD tuner?

Just tried a rescan on Channels iOS (Production). At first, it appeared to work as while it was scanning the # of channels was about 2x the number of channels on the Channels list. However, at finish it reverted back to the same lower number.

None of the hidden (tuner) HD channels are listed, hence I cannot remark them as unhidden nor favorite for Channels app. Not sure about SD, but many DRM marked as hidden on tuner, are on the Channels list with the hidden symbol. Haven’t checked any other SD channels.

Channel lineup is stored on the hdhomerun.

DVR mirrors hdhomerun lineup exactly. Any changes to favorites or hidden channels in DVR will be reflected on hdhomerun, and vice versa.

iOS and tvOS read lineup from hdhomerun, but ignore hidden channels. Changes to hide/favorite on iOS/tvOS are stored locally only.

Therefore, current configuration precludes achieving my goal:

HDHR tuner channel lineup MUST allow all channel #s which are needed for Channels, AND as a by-product then all those channel #s would appear in SD’s apps (Goal: SD’s lineup to only include the DRM channels).

The only achieveable solution is to purchase another HDHR prime tuner to be dedicated to SD DRM lineup and also pay the additional monthly CC cost. Note: WMC is not an option…due to limited viewing devices.

Also, not a viable solution for our household, as the additional cost(s) outweigh the benefits.

Thanks though, for the clarification of the process.
