I'm not exactly sure the best way to implement what I'm looking for. But instead of having a binary setting to display or hide the collections/filters in the guide, it would be great if they were hidden until you need them.
Maybe that could be that they auto hide when you start scrolling right in the guide. Maybe there could be a drop-down list above the guide where you could click to select the collection/filter. Maybe a button long press (or something similar) could popup a list of collections/filters.
Doesn't really matter, just as long as they don't permanently take up all of that real estate on the screen, but are available when you need them.
