Request: Show the Client name info on Web Status Page

On the admin web page status activity box, please also include the client name for each device that is active. There's been many times when I've seen something goofy like a transcode when it should be 'original quality' or other things when I have no idea which client it is. For example, I have 5 devices at my other house but it currently only shows the IP (which all devices are the same). Thanks!

Hmm, mine is showing the client name:

Sorry I should have specified for remote devices not on the LAN.

It’s currently identifying the client by IP. Remote devices all have the same IP. So it’s not possible.

Future enhancements could make this better.

If you click on 'Clients' at the top it knows which ones are connected specifically. So why can't that info be tied to/included under the Settings tab/Activity box?

They are. This is how it works, and why the same clients all having the same IP address doesn't work.

Those are just clients that have communicated with the server. These aren't showing real time connected clients. You can see that they all have the same IP address listed there.

There are other clients there with the same IP that show 16 hours ago, 2 days ago, etc.

So it knows which client is communicating and connecting to the server, just not real-time info?

Yes, they are registered (and re-registered) when they are used.

I’ve explained and answered your question and mentioned we’d look into making these more accurate.

Trust me when I say it’s not possible with the current way things work without making me detail the exact implementation.

Thanks for your explanation and replies, it's much appreciated. It would be great if it can be implemented in the future at some point.

Keep up the great work!

GOOD News: I see now on the Status page that it is showing the device name of the remotely connected devices!

BAD News: It looks like there is a bug, it's showing duplicate names (one of the devices twice) instead of 3 different device names.
