Hi there,
As the title suggests, I would like to request a way of watching media via the web client natively. Right channels will transcode content to whatever you set it to.
I have gigabit symmetrical internet at home, and I don't see why transcoding is necessary unless it's a legacy browser support thing?
I mostly use channels on my phone, but I recently purchased a 2nd hand Tesla, and it would be awesome if I could watch channels content on it. Last time I tried to watch Live TV (HDHR) or shows in my library, it was super laggy and took about 1 minute to build a 3 second buffer.
The car had full bars of service, but I tried tethering my phone anyway and I still had no luck getting smooth playback on the car. My phone reported 300mbps on 5G, I reckon the issue is due to transcoding. Which is why I would like to request an option to play without transcoding the files like you can do on the client version.
I'm not asking to get rid of transcoding, I understand that having a fast upload speed is fairly rare still. But for those of us who do have a good upload speed, it would be great if we could watch the native files via the web client
Maybe add a "no transcode" player to the drop down here:
