Rescanning my HDHR3-CC

I've had Comcast/Xfinity add a couple channels and on my TiVo devices they seem to be working BUT I seem to have an issue rescanning my HDHR (2). The only thing I have done is activate the deselect duplicates in the 'settings'.

What di I need to do to rescan my HDHR devices?

Rescan on your HDHR3-CC web page then on Channels DVR reload lineup on the HDHR3-CC

OK - I unchecked the de-duplicate first and am rescanning now.

Since I have your attention. Where can I find an explanation for the 'Recordings' ICONS? I have green circles, I have green circles that populate after watching, and I have many that don't populate after watching. I'd just like to find a 'For Dummies' I think. I've been at this for not much more than a month and not for extended periods at a time.
