Retro-style scrolling channel guide

Hi all!

Just wanted to hop on here and show off a little side project I've been casually working on.

Growing up as a 90s kid, we had that satisfyingly blue channel guide that would show the listings of whatever is on and upcoming. Sometimes we'd just let it sit on the TV when looking for something to watch, other times it was the thing we watched. Sometimes it lulled us to sleep. Hey, I don't judge!

Well, I've been working on recreating a version of that fed by the Channels DVR server channel listings. The project is called Guide, and while it works pretty well, it is still fairly buggy and temperamental at times. Below is a bit of a WIP screenshot of it!

It's written in .net 9 (C#) and SDL 3, mostly as an excuse to refresh/learn SDL 3 and to satisfy my desire for some nostalgia, and should run on anything that those can compile down to. I'm trying pretty hard lately to keep resource utilization down so it can run on pretty much any old device. My end goal is to eventually get it runnable on an Raspberry Pi and use some kind of HDMI network video encoder/whatever to run this as a full-time virtual channel on my server. Gotta recreate that retro feel with this and a full-time WeatherStar 4000 simulator running.

The links for the GitHub repo are above. Nothing pre-built released yet, and ideally it'd be nice to get this running in emscripten too so it can use the Chrome Capture for Channels tool for those who don't want to find an HDMI network encoder.

That's all! Just wanted to show off. Thanks for reading!
