Switched from a Dell server to RPi but Rpi won't recognize my 10tb when trying to restore recordings or find even a storage path
What format is the hard drive in? Does the Pi need to format it?
I do not know as I cant see it anywhere unless I put it on my desktop and do diskmgmt
Sounds like either the Pi does not have the support for the filesystem, or your user account does not have permissions for the drive.
After you plug the drive in, what is the output of dmesg | tail -n10?

So the drive is being seen, so let's see what its layout is. How about output of lsblk -f and fdisk -l /dev/sdb?
