Samsung TV Plus for Channels

Would it help if we reduced the frequency of EPG refreshes?
I'm refreshing every hour. Could reduce that to every 2 or 3 hours.

nope. thats all cached by CF so there is no difference to my server between 1 or a million hits.
the problem is when the cache expires, and a new request comes in and the server is at resource limit - it just starts failing

Samsung guide data is stale again

My Samsung guide is not updating any longer. Not sure if this is related to the recent discussions, so...

Several months ago, same issue. Changed path to http://......IP address...../epg.xml and it began working again til recently. I am in the US- East coast region.

Guide data was missing (stale) for about 16 hours yesterday, updated once about 12 hours ago and hasn't updated since. It normally provides 6 hours of guide data and gets updated hourly.
And it's Sunday 5am NZ time, so Matt may not see these posts for awhile.

Yea....hopefully it can be fixed for good.
This starting to become a bit on the more un-reliable side, like TVE sometimes gets.
And with the possible future looking like Pluto forcing a login to access their free streams, these super fast to add m3u channels, may become more difficult to integrate into Channels, and less reliable a source.

Still no guide data

Hopefully @matthuisman is still around and doing OK.

Maybe he's doing this

But it's Monday 11pm NZ time now...

I don't use @matthuisman's implementation since I don't use docker. I just goto 60 Minutes (hover over the link I supplied even though it says 60 minutes) for the guide. It's been out for 2 days but I just checked and the guide is back so it's possibly back for those who use his implementation. Let's see if it stays now that it's back.

That's the same one the container pulls. It's newer, but about 2 hours old.

I just checked a couple stations we watch (Bon Appetit, Hungry, Tastemade) and they're reflecting the correct shows I feel. My timezone is EST so maybe that's why? Or maybe I'm misunderstanding what you're trying to convey.

The guide data in the XML is 6 hours worth.
It was generated about 2 hours ago, so has 4 more hours of guide data.
If a new one isn't generated in the next 4 hours (should be every hour) you'll run out of guide data.

Ah gotcha, I now understand what you were saying. Yes, I only have guide data until the 11pm show. So here's hoping it updates over the next couple hours.

Just checked, and now i have guide data again, until 11pm my time.

I just told channels to download the latest guide (before 8pm EST) and it downloaded guide data until the 1am show so it's downloading approx 6 hours of data so that's promising. Although, let's see if it continues downloading tomorrow and the next day and the next......

its going to be unreliable until i find time to split up the servers.
Hopefully over the next week

Since I download directly from the site I don't feel it was your implementation's problem. I feel the actual EPG site had issues.

My EPG data is back to normal now. Thanks Matt for all you do!

Epg data only goes out 3.5 hours
I’m only getting 414 channels.
Is this correct?
Thanks
